Value Added Governance

At GLK Solutions, we believe our unique selling point is that we are more than a clerking service. Clerking and governance has changed over recent years; clerking is no longer a standard administration service. We use our expertise in education and as serving governors to provide additionality to our clerking. We will bring best-practice from our knowledge in other local authorities and CPD development. In summary:

  • keyboard_arrow_rightWe are completely independent, we are not aligned to any local authority, group, or body and therefore provide completely independent advice and clerking services to ensure the effective operation of your governance function and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • keyboard_arrow_rightOur team are serving Governors and have experience of key roles such as Chair, Vice-Chair, Training and Development Governor (Link), and Subject Link Governor. We have also completed the National Clerks Development Programme and Chair of Governors Programme (licenced by the National College of Teaching).
  • keyboard_arrow_rightWe have a track record of working across a range of education settings both locally and nationally from Early Years to Higher Education and with several Multi Academy Trusts, local Authorities and the Department for Education.

In addition to the National Clerks Development Programme your Clerk it committed to ongoing CPD through various short courses and training opportunities.

GLK Clerking Packages

We can offer a range of packages to suit your school or Trust setting. Our packages can be tailor-made to fit the size of your MAT or the priorities of your school. Prices start at £1,880.00 (+VAT) for three Trust Board or Local Governing Board meetings per academic year. All GLK Clerking packages include support and set up time which will enable your Clerk to provide:

  • keyboard_arrow_rightFull service level agreement to confirm the role of your Clerk
  • keyboard_arrow_rightFull academic year Governance calendar covering all meeting dates and deadlines for papers
  • keyboard_arrow_rightAnnual schedule of business to support agenda development and identify statutory and best-practice activity throughout the year
  • keyboard_arrow_rightGovernance structure organogram (including committees where applicable)
  • keyboard_arrow_rightMinimum requirements website checklist for school or Trust website
  • keyboard_arrow_rightRegister of Interests compiled and register created
